Privacy Policy & Terms
This website is operated by Eric Jones for Congress (“the Committee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This page explains how we collect, use, and share information through ericjones.us and our communications, and the terms that apply when you use our website or sign up for updates. By using our website or providing your information, you agree to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use below.
Privacy Policy
Information we collect
We may collect information you choose to give us and information we receive from other sources, including:
Information you provide — such as your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, employer and occupation, and any message or other details you submit when you sign up, volunteer, RSVP, or donate.
Information from public and commercial sources — such as the public voter file, data appends, commercial data providers, social media platforms, and allied organizations.
Information collected automatically — such as device, browser, and usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website.
You may be contacted by the campaign using information from the public voter file and other sources even if you have not signed up with us.
How we use information
We use information for any purpose connected to the campaign’s work, including to:
communicate with you about the campaign, events, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising;
identify, understand, and reach voters, including voter-file matching, modeling, and creating custom and similar (“lookalike”) advertising audiences;
operate, improve, and analyze our website, programs, and outreach; and
comply with legal and reporting obligations.
How we share information
We may share, exchange, or license information — other than text messaging opt-in information, which is treated as described in the next section — with:
candidates, campaigns, political party committees, and political action committees;
organizations and causes that share our values; and
our vendors and technology partners, who may use the information to provide and improve their services and as otherwise permitted by their agreements with us.
We may also transfer information to any successor committee or organization associated with Eric Jones, and disclose information when we believe it is required or permitted by law. Federal law requires us to report the name, mailing address, occupation, and employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in an election cycle; that information becomes part of the public record.
Text messaging (SMS) program
If you provide your mobile number and opt in, you consent to receive recurring text messages from Eric Jones for Congress, which may include campaign updates, event invitations and reminders, volunteer opportunities, and donation requests. Providing your number is optional, and consent is not a condition of any purchase or donation.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or email info@ericjones.us.
No mobile information, including text messaging originator opt-in data and consent, will be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share this information with the service providers that help us operate our text messaging program, and as otherwise required by law.
Cookies and Do Not Track
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve our website and outreach. Because there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” signals, we do not respond to them.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as it is useful to the campaign’s work, which may extend beyond the current election, unless a longer or shorter period is required by law.
Security
We use reasonable physical, administrative, and technical measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify affected individuals of a security incident as required by law.
Children’s privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
Your choices
You may ask us to update or delete the personal information you have provided by contacting us at info@ericjones.us. We will honor reasonable requests, subject to our legal and recordkeeping obligations.
Third-party services and links
Our website uses and links to third-party services — for example, for donations, event registration, and volunteer sign-ups. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms, and we are not responsible for their practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, and the “Effective” date above reflects the most recent update.

If you attend or RSVP to a campaign event, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded, and to the campaign’s use of your name, likeness, and voice for campaign purposes.
