Tackling Immigration Reform

America is a nation of immigrants — and a nation of laws. Our immigration system should reflect both. Right now, it does neither. It is broken, cruel, inefficient, and exploited by political extremes while real families pay the price.

I support a humane, orderly, and fair immigration system that keeps families together, strengthens our economy, and restores accountability to federal enforcement agencies.

Eric’s Five Point Plan for ICE

1. Protect the Constitution. Every Amendment Applies to Everyone

Eric will require immigration enforcement to fully uphold the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 10th Amendments, ensuring freedom of speech, lawful due process, protections against unreasonable searches, and respect for state authority. No federal agency should operate in a legal gray zone when constitutional rights are at stake.

2. Real Accountability for Federal Agents

Federal agents — and their supervisors — must be held personally accountable for constitutional or judicial violations. Eric supports clear statutory pathways for investigation, discipline, and civil liability when rights are breached, restoring public trust in federal law enforcement.

3. End the Surveillance State

Unchecked surveillance erodes democracy. Eric will push for strict limits on biometric tracking, data collection, and monitoring of law-abiding residents, along with stronger transparency requirements so Americans know how their data is being used.

4. Professionalize ICE with Modern Training Standards

ICE must meet the same professional expectations Americans demand from modern law enforcement. Eric supports advanced training in:

  • Constitutional law and civil rights

  • De-escalation tactics

  • Cultural competency

  • Use-of-force standards

  • Coordination with local jurisdictions

A rapidly expanding federal workforce must not cut corners on vetting or training.

5. Refocus Enforcement on Serious Threats — and Rebuild the Agency

Enforcement should prioritize violent criminals, traffickers, and national security threats, not hardworking families. Eric supports restructuring ICE under the Department of Justice to strengthen legal oversight and align immigration enforcement with established prosecutorial standards.

A Path to Legal Status and Citizenship

Millions of undocumented immigrants are already part of our communities — working, paying taxes, and raising families. I support a clear, earned path to permanent legal status and eventual citizenship for people who are contributing to our economy and following the law. Bringing people out of the shadows makes our communities safer and stronger.

Keep Families Together

Family separation is immoral and counterproductive. I oppose policies that rip children from their parents or destabilize families who pose no threat to public safety. Immigration enforcement should prioritize humanity and due process — not cruelty as a deterrent.

Dreamers Deserve Security

Dreamers are Americans in every way but paperwork. I support an immediate, permanent path to citizenship for those brought to the United States as children. This policy has overwhelming public support and is long overdue.

Smart, Fair Worker Visas

Our economy depends on immigrant labor — especially in agriculture, healthcare, and service industries. I support a modern guest worker program that is not tied to a single employer, so workers can’t be exploited or threatened with deportation for standing up for themselves. Worker protections must be central to immigration reform.

Public Safety with Real Priorities

I support deportation of undocumented individuals who commit serious violent crimes. Enforcement resources should focus on genuine threats to public safety — not families, workers, or people whose only “crime” is trying to survive.

Accountability and Reform at ICE

ICE must be held to clear standards of accountability and transparency. I oppose militarized, unaccountable enforcement practices and support strong congressional oversight to ensure ICE respects civil rights, follows due process, and operates within the law. Immigration enforcement should not function as a rogue agency immune from oversight.

Fix the System — Don’t Weaponize It

Immigration should not be used as a political weapon. We need comprehensive reform that modernizes our visa system, clears backlogs, expands legal pathways, and treats people with dignity while enforcing the law fairly and consistently.

This is not about open borders or mass deportation. It’s about competence, compassion, and common sense — and building an immigration system that works for families, workers, and the country as a whole.
